Assessment & containment
We inspect the attic to establish what is contaminated and how far it goes, confirm the activity has actually stopped, and set up containment so nothing that comes out of the attic travels through the rest of the house on the way to the truck.

Removal
Contaminated insulation, nesting material and debris are removed from the space and bagged out. This is the stage that cannot be skipped or shortcut — you cannot clean or treat insulation that has been used as a latrine, you can only take it away.

Disinfection & deodorizing
The cleared deck, framing and surfaces are treated with products registered with Health Canada, applied by a licensed technician, to disinfect the space and address the odour rather than mask it. Where scent and pheromone trails are the reason animals kept returning, neutralizing them is part of this stage.

Seal & reset
Entry points get closed with materials rodents cannot chew through, vents are screened, and the attic is re-insulated so it is a functioning attic again rather than an empty deck. Exclusion and remediation are booked as one job because either one alone leaves you exposed.

Attic Remediation — straight answers
Do we have to move out while this is done?
Usually not. Attic work is done from the attic with containment at the access point, and most households carry on normally. If the scope, the access route or the products used mean you should be out of the house for a period, we tell you before we start and we give you a specific window rather than a vague one.
The mice are gone — can I just leave the insulation up there?
You can, and some people do. What you are left with is compressed, soiled material that is not performing, an odour source above your ceiling, and scent trails that make the attic attractive to the next animal that finds a gap. It is a fair thing to defer if budget is tight, but it is not the same as being finished.
Will the smell actually go?
Once the contaminated material is out and the space is disinfected and deodorized, yes — the source is what carries the odour, so removing it does most of the work. Odour that lingers afterwards usually means something is still up there, most often a dead animal in a wall cavity or under the insulation, and we go back and find it.
Is remediation work guaranteed?
The guarantee applies to our treatment work — the pest control side, including exclusion and treatment done alongside the remediation. Removal, cleaning and re-insulation are restoration work rather than treatment, so they sit outside it. We say that plainly rather than letting the guarantee do work it was never meant to do.
