Bird Control
Birds are an exclusion problem, not a spraying problem. Pigeons and gulls roosting on balconies, ledges and rooflines create mess, damage and health complaints — and the fix is physical: netting, deterrent systems and proofing, specified for the building and installed to last.

How we handle it
- 01
Site assessment
We survey the roosting and nesting points, the species, and the building conditions that make it attractive in the first place. For commercial work this comes with the documentation a property manager needs to approve the job.
- 02
Deterrent installation
Netting, spikes or wire systems selected for the surface and the pressure level, installed to be effective without being conspicuous. The right system for a parapet is not the right system for a balcony.
- 03
Exclusion & proofing
Openings, voids and nesting cavities are closed so the problem does not simply move a few metres along the same building — which is what happens when only the visible ledge gets treated.
- 04
Ongoing monitoring
For commercial and multi-unit properties, scheduled checks keep the system doing its job through Calgary winters and the spring nesting season.

Common questions
Bird Control — straight answers
Why netting instead of spikes?
It depends on the surface and the pressure. Spikes work on a narrow ledge with light landing pressure. They do nothing for a large recessed balcony or an open parapet where birds have room to nest behind them. Netting closes the whole volume, which is why it is the standard answer for balconies, courtyards and roof plant areas.
Is bird work disruptive to tenants?
Less than people expect. Most installs are done from a lift or from the roof, and we schedule around the building. For occupied multi-unit properties we can stage the work floor by floor so no one loses balcony access for long.
Do you handle the droppings clean-up as well?
Yes. Accumulated droppings are a health matter and need clearing properly before exclusion goes up, otherwise you are sealing the mess in. We handle the clean-down and the install as one job.
How long does an exclusion system last?
A properly specified and correctly tensioned system is a multi-year fix, not a seasonal one. What shortens its life is poor anchoring and under-specified mesh — which is why the assessment stage matters more here than in any other part of pest control.
