Wildlife Control
Wildlife work is a different discipline from pest control — there is nothing to spray. The job is identifying the animal correctly, getting it out humanely and within Alberta’s wildlife regulations, and then closing the building so the next one cannot take its place. We handle skunks under decks and sheds, squirrels in attics and rooflines, birds on and in buildings, and the dead-animal calls that sometimes follow.

How we handle it
- 01
Assessment and identification
We establish what the animal is, how it is getting in, how long it has been there and whether young are present. Season is part of that assessment on every wildlife job, because it decides what can be done now and what has to wait.
- 02
Humane removal
One-way exclusion or hands-on removal, matched to the species and the situation, handled humanely and within Alberta’s wildlife regulations. We do not use poison on wildlife — it is the wrong tool, and it leaves a carcass somewhere you cannot reach.
- 03
Exclusion and proofing
Mesh, screening, vent covers and dig-proof skirting, specified for the building and the animal. This is the part that makes the fix permanent, and it is the step that separates a wildlife job from a callout.
- 04
Clean-up and honest handover
Soiled material, odour treatment and dead-animal removal where they are needed, and a clear statement of anything that properly belongs to a roofer, an electrician or an insulation contractor.

Common questions
Wildlife Control — straight answers
What wildlife do you actually handle?
Skunks denning under decks, sheds and steps; squirrels in attics, soffits and rooflines; birds nesting in vents and roosting on buildings; and dead animal and bird removal from walls, attics and ducting. Each of those has its own page with the detail — skunk control, squirrel control, bird control and dead animal removal.
Do you use poison on wildlife?
No. Beyond it being the wrong approach to the animals people call us about, a poisoned animal dies in the space it was living in — under a deck, in a soffit, inside a wall — and you are left with an odour and insect problem in a spot that is hard to open up. Removal and exclusion are the fix.
Can you just remove it and let me close up the hole myself?
We will do the removal, but we will also tell you straight that removal without exclusion is temporary. Animals return to a den or nest site they know, and an open entry attracts the next one. If you would rather do the sealing yourself, we will show you exactly what needs closing and what it needs to be closed with.
What happens if there are young in there?
We check for that before anything is sealed, on every job, because timing is the single most common failure in wildlife work. Closing an entry with dependent young inside strands them and turns a removal into a dead-animal job. Where young are present the work is staged so the whole family group is out first.
