Mice Treatment

Mice, rats and voles are the most common call we take in Calgary — and the one where sealing the building matters more than anything sprayed. A mouse that can fit its skull through a gap can fit the rest of itself through too, so the work is as much carpentry as it is treatment.

How we handle it

  1. 01

    Inspection

We walk the exterior and interior to find the actual entry points — foundation gaps, unscreened vents, utility penetrations, garage thresholds, weeping tile — and identify the species. Mice, Norway rats and voles each need a different response.

  2. 02

    Baiting & trapping

Targeted placement in the runways and harbourage areas, using methods appropriate to the species and the property. In homes with pets or young children we use tamper-resistant stations placed out of reach.

  3. 03

    Prevention & exclusion

The entry points get sealed with materials rodents cannot chew through. This is the part that stops the problem returning, and the part most DIY attempts skip entirely.

  4. 04

    Follow-up

We return to confirm activity has stopped rather than assuming it has. And our results are guaranteed.

Common questions

Mice Treatment — straight answers

How do mice get into a Calgary home in the first place?

Almost always through a gap you would not think twice about — around a gas or water line, under a garage door with a worn seal, through an unscreened dryer or attic vent, or where the siding meets the foundation. A house mouse needs roughly the width of a pencil. Cold snaps drive them indoors, which is why calls spike as soon as overnight temperatures drop.

Will store-bought traps and poison sort it out?

They will kill the rodents you catch. They will not close the way in, so the next ones simply move into the same space. Poison used without a plan can also leave a rodent dead inside a wall cavity, which becomes an odour problem that is harder to fix than the original infestation.

Are voles the same as mice?

No. Voles live outdoors and damage lawns, root systems and shrub beds rather than nesting inside. In Calgary the damage usually shows up in spring as winding surface runways across the grass once the snow goes. They are treated as a yard and perimeter problem, not a structural one.

Is the treatment safe around pets and children?

Every product we apply is registered with Health Canada and applied by an Alberta-licensed technician. We use tamper-resistant stations where pets or children have access, and we tell you exactly which areas to stay out of and for how long before we leave.
