Mapping the contamination
We work out where the activity actually was — runways, harbourage, nesting areas, the voids behind and under equipment — rather than where the mess is most visible. Scent trails follow travel routes, and those routes are often tucked behind kickboards, along pipe chases and up wall cavities.

Removal & deep sanitation
Droppings, nesting material, carcasses and contaminated debris are removed and bagged out, then surfaces are cleaned properly rather than wiped. Anything porous that has absorbed contamination usually has to go, because you cannot sanitize your way through material that has soaked it up.

Disinfection & odour treatment
Cleared surfaces are disinfected and deodorized with products registered with Health Canada, applied by an Alberta-licensed technician. The aim is to remove the odour source, not cover it with something stronger — masking agents fade and leave you exactly where you started.

Trail neutralization & verification
Treatment is applied along the runs and harbourage points so the scent and pheromone markers pests were following are broken up. Then we come back and check whether activity is re-establishing along the same routes, because that is the only real test of whether the reset worked.

Is the pheromone thing real, or is it a sales line?
It is real, and it is straightforward. Cockroaches produce an aggregation pheromone in their droppings that draws other roaches to the same harbourage — it is why they cluster in one cupboard rather than spreading evenly. Rodents mark travel routes with urine and body grease and then reuse those runs. We are not claiming anything beyond that: remove the markers and you remove one reason the next ones settle in the same place.
Can I not just clean it myself with bleach?
You can clean the visible surfaces, and that helps. What household cleaning rarely reaches is the void behind the kickboard, the pipe chase, the joist run in a crawl space or the underside of equipment — which is exactly where the trails are. It is also worth being careful: disturbing dried rodent droppings without proper protection is the part of the job we would rather you left alone.
When should this be done — before or after treatment?
After. Sanitizing while a population is still active means doing it twice, so we deal with the infestation first, confirm activity has stopped, and then reset the space. On a bad job the two get scheduled back to back so you are not living with it in between.
Does it come with a guarantee?
Our results guarantee covers treatment work, and where trail neutralization is done as licensed treatment alongside a pest job, that treatment is covered. The cleaning and sanitation side is restoration rather than treatment, so it sits outside the guarantee. We would rather draw that line clearly than blur it.
