Mosquito Control

Calgary's mosquito season is short and intense, and it is driven almost entirely by standing water. Treating the yard without dealing with the breeding sites is why some properties stay unusable all summer while the one next door is fine.

How we handle it

  1. 01

    Property assessment

We walk the yard for breeding sites and resting areas — blocked gutters, plant saucers, low ground that holds water after rain, dense shaded shrubs where adults shelter through the day.

  2. 02

    Source reduction

We tell you which standing water needs removing or treating. This is the highest-leverage part of the job and it costs nothing to act on.

  3. 03

    Yard & perimeter treatment

Licensed application to the resting areas — the underside of foliage, fence lines and shaded perimeter — where adult mosquitoes spend the day.

  4. 04

    Seasonal scheduling

Mosquito control is a season-long programme rather than a one-off. Treatments are scheduled through the summer to hold the yard through the peak weeks.

Common questions

Mosquito Control — straight answers

How long does a treatment last?

Expect a few weeks per treatment, with heavy rain shortening it. That is why we treat on a schedule through the season rather than selling a single visit and calling it solved.

Is it safe for pets, kids and the garden?

Products are registered with Health Canada and applied by an Alberta-licensed technician to foliage and resting areas, not to lawns where children play or to vegetable beds. We tell you the re-entry time before we leave.

Will it affect bees?

We time and place applications to avoid flowering plants and pollinator activity. If you keep bees or have significant pollinator planting, tell us at the assessment and we will plan the treatment around it.

What can I do myself between treatments?

Empty anything holding water — plant saucers, wheelbarrows, kids toys, tarps, clogged gutters, the low corner of the yard that never drains. A mosquito can complete its life cycle in a bottle cap of water. This single habit does more than most people expect.
